Wellbeing of Women have four related entry level scholarships (ELS) which may be of interest. They all provide single candidates with up to £20,000 for research lasting normally up to one year. Funds are for directly incurred research costs and may include a salary contribution.

Wellbeing of Women-Royal College of Physicians Partnership Entry Level Scholarships (ELS): the award will fund pre-doctoral physicians in a basic science, clinical or translational research project aimed to improve outcomes for pregnant women with medical disorders, or who develop gestational syndromes. Wellbeing of Women-Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Partnership Entry Level Scholarships (ELS): the award will fund successful candidates in a basic science, clinical or translational research project in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology to improve women’s healthcare. Applicants must be members of the RCOG. More information about the award can be found here.

Wellbeing of Women-Royal College of Midwives Partnership Entry Level Scholarships (ELS): scholarships are usually for research that seeks to improve the practice of midwifery and maternity services, including postnatal care, but will be considered for basic science, clinical, and translational research across any area of women’s reproductive and gynaecological health, that seeks to improve the health of women, girls and babies. Applicants must be midwives and full members of the RCM. More information about the award can be found here.

Wellbeing of Women-British Maternal & Fetal Medicine Society Partnership Entry Level Scholarships (ELS): the award will fund successful candidates in a basic science, clinical or translational research project aimed to improve maternal and fetal health, and pregnancy care. Applicants do not have to be members of the BMFMS, but successful candidates are expected to join the Society on receipt of their award. More information about the award can be found here.
